Our community is full of good surprises and important debates, and one day a group's member brought up a key question:
If someone uses "guys" to refer to a crowd, is that appropriate or not? Is that neutral gender?
We personally think it's not.
Let's look at the facts: in English, "guys" is the plural for the word "guy", which is a slang for "man".
Therefore, we think this word isn't inclusionary.
That little word isn't gender neutral, and it's unfair that people try to pretend it is.
Does that make sense to you? We are always open for other ideas :)
